In their previous meeting, Brookline delivered Newton South a punishing 34 – 6 defeat. Things did not go nearly so well for Brookline this time around, however. Victory was within reach, but Brookline ultimately lost 6 – 0 to Newton South.
The win bumped Newton South’s record up to 2-0. Brookline dropped down to.500 with a 1-1 record.
