Carl Mastandrea Named Brookline Arts Center Director

Carl Mastandrea, a veteran teacher, photographer and arts administrator, has been named executive director of the Brookline Arts Center.

Mastandrea was founder and executive director of the award-winning Boston Photo Collaborative, where he developed educational/cultural programs for low-income youth that received honors from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, the President’s Committee on Arts and Humanities and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Most recently, Mastandrea managed the Catalog for Philanthropy, the first of its kind to try to connect individual donors with charities, broaden donors’ awareness of growing organizations and boost charitable giving.

Mastandrea has a bachelor of science degree in fine arts from Northeastern University and a master of science degree in fine arts from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design.

The BAC is planning a series of open houses throughout the summer so members of the community can meet Mastandrea.
